High Brightness LED Strobe Using IC 555

Here is one another project which is useful in our daily life using the most popular IC NE555. The project high-brightness LED strobe uses an array of 36 high-brightness LEDs. The advantage of project is it is small battery powered and very efficient. A variable resistor on the side allows the frequencies of the flashing to be varied.

Circuit Description of High Brightness LED Strobe Using IC 555

Circuit diagram of high-brightness LED strobe is shown in figure 1. The entire circuit is build around timer IC NE555 (IC1) or we can also say IC1 as heart of the circuit. IC1 is here used in astable mode and generate pulse. The output of IC1 is obtained at pin 3 and is given to MOSFET transistor T1. LEDs are connected to output of MOSFET.

For power supply a 9V PP3 battery is used. When switch SW1 is pressed ON, timer IC NE555 (IC1) starts generating pulse which turns on the MOSFET and further drive the LEDs. VR1 used here to adjust brightness of LEDs strobe.

Parts list Quote T1 as FQP27P06….but this is a P-channel mosfet. What is the correct one to use FQP27P06 or FQP27N06

  2. Abhijeet Patil

The MOSET FQP27P06 is not available in my area. Can you please suggest an alternate part number?
